Winter is the perfect time to introduce you to one of the designers we love - and she is both a designer and exceptional knitter!
From a casual conversation in the SHED one day, we met Sam Lamb who was stocking-up with some of our alpaca yarn. As our conversation moved from the excitement of the selection of yarn to what projects she was working on - we asked her to create something special for us.
She explained her enthusiasm for knitting by saying "Once upon a time in a store window on a snowy city street, a tiny knit sweater and a pair of wooden needles stole her heart. Many skeins, lessons, sweaters, and years later, she is still in love with the reliability of counting stitches and the tactile beauty of wool. Today, Sam’s knitting is inspired by natural fibres, vintage textiles, and the geography of the places she holds dear, including Prince Edward County, which she celebrates in her pattern names.
