Chetwyn Farms & the SHED

Nearly twenty years ago, we made a 55-acre farm outside Wellington our home. Drawn to Prince Edward County’s open fields and the shores of Lake Ontario, we began raising alpacas and learning what their remarkable fleece could become.

Our backgrounds in design, fashion and retail shaped the farm as much as the animals did. We learned to produce fine fleece, work with small-scale spinners, and develop a collection of yarns and goods made with care. Today, the SHED—our former chicken coop—is a farm shop where visitors can browse yarn, accessories, throws and other thoughtfully chosen pieces while alpacas graze in the nearby pastures.

The SHED Studio brings another part of our story to life. Throughout the season, it welcomes artists, exhibitions, workshops and occasional pop-up shops. It is a place to meet makers, see work in progress and discover something unexpected.

We believe in the value of knowing where things come from and the people who make them. Our collection reflects that belief: useful, beautiful objects with a connection to craft, to the farm and to the hands behind them.

The Shop

Housed in a former chicken coop, the SHED is our farm shop overlooking the alpaca pastures. Inside, you’ll find yarn made from our fleece alongside throws, accessories, gifts and pieces chosen for their quality and character.

We want the shop to feel connected to the place around it. Come to find something for your next project, choose a gift, or simply spend a little time with the alpacas.

The Studio

Tucked within the SHED, our studio is a small space for art and making. Its changing programme includes exhibitions, artist pop-ups, open studios and seasonal workshops.

Some visits offer a chance to meet an artist or watch a craft take shape; others reveal a new collection on the walls. There is always a reason to look in.
