Last Blast of Winter?

We do lots of planning on the farm over the winter months.  Local knitters are working on new designs as we take delivery of yarn back from the mills.  This year we sent over 200 lbs of fleece to be processed into our signature yarns and are busy sorting and preparing skeins of 100% alpaca all natural colours for our opening on May 24th weekend.  New paddocks, a shaded viewing area to provide better and expansive views of the pastures and alpaca - And a new entrance & driveway with a enlarged parking area are in the works - Hoping...

Holidays at Chetwyn Farms

Summer seems but a distant memory as autumn and winter descends on the farm!.....The alpaca are settling into a cooler-weather routine!  Our small chicken coop (aka the pop-up farm shop) is bursting with locally made hand-knit scarves, toques, capes, mittens and cowls.  100% alpaca is also woven in rich holiday colours for our classic throws, blankets and wraps!  Alpaca socks for the cold winter ahead and lots of yarn to knit during those long winter days!  We love the fall and winter and hope you enjoy our holiday offerings!

Cover Model - ZEUS our champion Stud!

We knew he was an amazing alpaca - now readers of Camalid Quarterly do too!  Zeus was one of the first alpaca cria born at Chetwyn Farms.  His striking good looks, bold black markings and handsome face make him a favourite in the show ring and on the farm.  Camalid Quarterly is an international magazine devoted to sharing the camelid world with alpaca and llama enthusiasts.

Mistletoe Magic Show November 14 10-4

Join us at the Mistletoe Magic Artisan Show & Sale on Saturday November 14th from 10am to 4 pm.  This year the show moves to Ackerman Hall, at Albert College in Belleville with expanded space and more vendors.  We will have lots of hand-crafted alpaca products from our Winter Collection!  Hope to see you there!
