Introducing: The “Ottaner” Collection

It’s no coincidence that we launch our spring 2022 Collection – between Earth Day 2022 and Mother’s Day 2022! Celebrating Mother Earth – and all those mothers who nurture a love for sustainable living!

Among several new international designers who design with conscious luxury in mind – AND use recycled and/or natural fibres to generate low impact on the environment – This year we are especially pleased to be working with a design cooperative from Peru that empowers more than 100 women, trained in weaving techniques, given leadership and financial skills and lead by designer Marilu Livia.

We are thrilled to introduce the “Ottaner” Collection by women for women who appreciate sophisticated style, while valuing the importance of sustainability in the world we live in today! A socially responsible company, working with female artisan communities from Peruvian coast and highlands; Marilu and her team provide guidance in product design, training and empower them to get more development opportunities. Working closely with these communities and supporting them, they develop unique pieces that combine different natural materials like alpaca or sheep wool creating something truly different and beautiful.

This year's collection of felt bags and haversacks are crafted by these female artisans for Chetwyn Farms - using eco-friendly materials and fibres like Alpaca felt, which is a luxury material and is prepared by recycling materials from alpaca yarn factories.

The “Ottaner” Collection is part of a triple impact proposal: timeless and minimalistic design, fair trade production with artisan communities and sustainable materials usage. We can’t think of a better way to honour mothers everywhere than with a collection that celebrates both sustainability and the feminine approach to great design!
