Discover Your Creative Side
At Chetwyn Farms, we offer a range of hands-on fiber arts classes designed for all skill levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your craft repertoire, our intimate workshops provide expert instruction in a beautiful farm setting.
Our Class Offerings
Knitting Classes
From casting on your first stitches to mastering complex patterns, our knitting classes guide you through techniques at your own pace. Beginners learn the fundamentals of knit and purl, while intermediate students explore colorwork, cables, and garment construction. All materials and needles are provided, and you'll start a project to take home and finish.
Felting Workshops
Explore the transformative art of felting using premium natural fibers. Learn wet felting techniques to create scarves, vessels, and wearable art, or try needle felting to craft three-dimensional sculptures and embellishments. These tactile workshops are perfect for those who love working with their hands and seeing immediate results.
Natural Dyeing Classes
Discover the magic of color from nature. Our dyeing workshops teach you how to extract vibrant hues from plants, flowers, and natural materials. Learn mordanting techniques, color theory, and how to achieve consistent results. You'll dye your own skeins of yarn or fiber to take home, along with recipes and knowledge to continue experimenting.
The Chetwyn Farms Experience
Our classes are kept small—typically 6-8 participants—to ensure personalized attention and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Between lessons, enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Prince Edward County, meet our friendly alpacas, and connect with fellow fiber enthusiasts. Many students combine their class with an overnight stay in our farm cottage for a complete creative retreat.
