A New Kind of Alpaca at SHED

We've spent years working exclusively with pure alpaca — and we're proud of that. But we've also listened. Customers love their SHED throws, and they want to use them. On the sofa. In the guest room. Pulled over a sleeping child on a road trip. And pure alpaca, as extraordinary as it is, has limits when it comes to daily wear and tear.

So we made a deliberate choice.

The Everyday Luxe Series introduces a carefully selected nylon component alongside our alpaca — 50% alpaca, 35% sheep's wool, 15% nylon. The nylon isn't a compromise; it's an engineering decision. It means the throw holds its shape, resists pilling, and stands up to the kind of daily use that would eventually show on a pure alpaca piece. The alpaca is still doing the heavy lifting — the softness, the warmth, the hypoallergenic comfort — but now it's built to last in the everyday.

This is the first time we've introduced a blended fibre product at SHED. It won't be the last.

What Makes It Luxe

At 200 x 150 cm, the Everyday Luxe throw is generous — big enough to share, substantial enough to feel like an investment. The colour palette was chosen to live in real homes: Anthracite Charcoal Grey, Moss Green, Gentleman's Grey, Sky Blue, Lilly Pad Green, Gravel Grey, and French Ochre. These aren't trend colours. They're the colours of a well-considered room.

Why We Made This

We started SHED because we believe in the fibre. Alpaca is extraordinary — cashmere-soft, thermally intelligent, naturally hypoallergenic, and produced by animals we know by name on a farm in Prince Edward County. That hasn't changed.

But luxury shouldn't mean fragile. The Everyday Luxe Series is our answer to the question we kept hearing: "Can I actually use it every day?"

Yes. That's the point.
