Sleep Like You're at the Farm: The Story Behind Our Alpaca Duvet

There's a moment in late autumn on the farm when the alpacas grow their winter coats and the air turns sharp off the lake. It's the same season we start fielding messages from customers who slept under one of our duvets for the first time and can't imagine going back to anything else.

We get it. We made these for ourselves first.

What Makes an Alpaca Duvet Different

Most duvets make a trade-off: down is warm but triggers allergies. Synthetics are allergy-safe but trap heat and go flat. Wool is heavy. Our alpaca duvet sidesteps all of it.

Alpaca fibre has a hollow core — a microscopic air pocket built into every strand. That structure does two things simultaneously that no other fill can: it insulates deeply while still breathing. The result is a duvet that keeps you warm in January and doesn't have you kicking off the covers in April.

It's also naturally hypoallergenic. No lanolin (unlike wool), no feather proteins (unlike down). For sensitive sleepers, it's genuinely life-changing.

Handcrafted. Made to Order. Made in Canada.

🍁 Each duvet is built by hand in Prince Edward County, Ontario — no imports, no mass production. We use traditional 8-inch box construction, creating individual chambers that prevent fill from migrating to the edges overnight. Your duvet arrives fresh, made specifically for you, with a 3–4 week lead time.

This isn't mass-produced bedding. It's the kind of thing you pass down.

The Alpaca Advantage Over Down & Wool

While down duvets can trigger allergies and synthetic fills trap heat and moisture, alpaca fibre offers the best of both worlds:

  • Warmer than wool — alpaca fibre provides superior insulation without the weight
  • Lighter than down — yet significantly warmer gram for gram
  • Naturally hypoallergenic — no lanolin, no feather proteins, no harsh chemicals
  • Temperature-regulating — breathable enough for summer, warm enough for January
  • Moisture-wicking — draws moisture away for dry, comfortable sleep
  • Long-lasting loft — unlike down that clumps or synthetics that flatten, alpaca holds its form year after year

The Sizes & Pricing

  • Crib (44″ × 32″) — $225 CAD
  • Twin (68″ × 90″) — $550 CAD
  • Queen/Double (88″ × 90″) — $750 CAD
  • King (102″ × 90″) — $850 CAD
  • Pet Bed — from $45 CAD

The Investment

A Queen/Double is $750 CAD. That's less than a weekend at a decent hotel, and it'll outlast a decade of discount duvets. Investment-quality bedding that maintains its loft and performance for years — this is the heirloom piece for your bedroom.
