Exploring plant based inks with Tania Love
This workshop offers an introduction to working with plant based inks. Participants will have the opportunity to forage for botanicals on Chetwyn Farms for use in ink making recipes. Additionally we’ll explore the possible modulations of colour using mordants.
Everyone will have the chance to experiment with the inks on paper, create a hand painted linen tea towel and take home an ink pot.
Bring your curiosity and gather in good company.

About :
Tania Love is a Toronto based visual artist who takes the cues for her work from the natural and cultural environment. Her curiosity in the intersection between traditional methods and innovative expressions has led her to explore a breadth of materials. She places emphasis on process oriented, tactile works to invite quiet, slower rhythms and connection to natural cycles. Recipient of numerous grants, international residencies and exhibitions, her work has been exhibited in public and commercial galleries as well as design projects within Canada and internationally. About this Workshop
Join us in the Studio Loft at Chetwyn Farms - our newly converted 1800s barn, where this small intimate group will work in an open, airy space. Watch alpacas in the nearby pastures from the floor to ceiling windows in the studio space.
Lunch & Farm Tour - This workshop includes a light vegetarian lunch along with an “alpaca encounter” a guided tour with the alpacas.
