Discover Your Creative Voice Through Tapestry Weaving

Join renowned fiber artist Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden for an immersive tapestry weaving workshop at our Prince Edward County alpaca farm. This hands-on experience combines traditional weaving techniques with intuitive artistic expression.

Intuitive Tapestry Weaving moves beyond the rigid patterns and structures of traditional weaving to explore the freedom of letting your instincts guide your creation. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced weaver, this workshop encourages you to trust your intuition, while exploring a variety of techniques, textures, and materials.

This is one of Dianne’s favourite workshops. There is always a joyful energy that is created as we play with all the colourful yarn and fibres and allow ourselves the freedom to explore weaving without restrictions. As we complete our weavings and reflect on the fun day we have had, we look around the class room and see how each creative expression is unique and exciting.

Everything you will need will be provided including a large selection of beautiful yarn, various fibres and a simple frame loom to use and take home.

Dianne Kennedy Cruttenden has been teaching  tapestry weaving since in 1973 when she was asked by the Canadian Arctic Producers to set up a studio in Kinnigait (Cape Dorset) Nunavut. Dianne’s work is in private collections throughout North America and Europe. Dianne is a member of the Octarines Women’s Art Collective and a member of the Elora Fergus Studio Tour. Dianne loves the journey of losing oneself in the tactile qualities of fibre, texture and colour, which is expressed in her work and workshops.

About this Workshop

Join us in the Studio Loft at Chetwyn Farms - our newly converted 1800s barn, where this small intimate group will work in an open, airy space.  Watch alpacas in the nearby pastures from the floor to ceiling windows in the studio space.  

Lunch on the Farm  - This workshop includes a light vegetarian lunch and refreshments during the day!

There is no refund or reduction in the fee for missed classes or cancellations.
You are welcome to pass along your  paid workshop space to a friend.
